Nesso was born from Artemide’s visionary identity. Designed by Giancarlo Mattioli and the Città Nuova Group of Architects and Urban Planners in the 1960s, Nesso is an international icon of futuristic design. It was a marvel of thermoplastic ABS injection molding when it was first introduced in 1967, bringing industrial materials and methods into homes and offices. Nesso is considered a valuable work of art. A design “icon,” it is part of the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
